I’m A SURVIVOR!
When I was going through my two cycles of therapy for my SURVIVAL of Child/Sexual Abuse & Sexual Assault the word “VICTIM” was never used. It was “SURVIVOR!” I’m NO ONES “VICTIM!” I’m a “SURVIVOR!” So I would appreciate it if everyone in the world would call me and my fellow “SURVIVORS” a “SURVIVOR!” Help me change the terminology & culture! Empower “SURVIVORS” by calling us that! And if you are a SURVIVOR just know that you are not alone. Talk to someone! And if you are that someone a SURVIVOR talks to… Empower them by letting them take the lead. Listen to them and don’t force or pressure them into doing something they aren’t ready for. The best thing you can do is Listen, Console, Be There and DO NOT FORCE OR PRESSURE THEM into doing something they’re not ready for. The first talk is not a time to tell them to go to the authorities! Trust me! I hated it when that was the first thing out of People’s mouths when I let the secret out. I’m hurting here… heal me! Empower me so I feel strong enough to get justice first! The first talk should be about healing them. Once they feel Empowered that is the time to tell them to go to the authorities. Remember a SURVIVOR’s wishes come first! It probably took them a long time to get the courage to speak out about it… So let them take the lead! THANK YOU VERY MUCH! o;P I LOVE YOU ALL! ♥
